The Big Idea
(This is a work-in-progress)
Beatrice is proud of all the things she can do now that she couldn't do before. One day, she sees her next-door neighbor Melvin do something she doesn't know how to do... dance! Beatrice tries books and videos to learn how to dance just like Melvin, but all she ends up doing is breaking her mother's ceramic moose.
Just when Beatrice is about to give up, Melvin helps Beatrice realize she doesn't need to learn from books and movies. She needs to find a way to learn how to dance that works just for her!
Looking for Beatrice
When Jorge first read the story that burst from my brain after a couple nights of reading how to write children's books (and the forty children's storybooks I lugged home from the library), he began showering me with sketches of Beatrice. See below to get a glimpse into Jorge's mind as he explored Beatrice's character design.
We don't have a set launch date in mind yet, but I'm hoping we will have something available for purchase via Lulu.com and Amazon.com by August 2012.
