Binaebi Akah » Sketchnotes

Everyone doodles. I just do it on purpose, usually in a sketchbook with a pile of pens and markers by my side. Like what you see? Hire me to sketchnote your talk/meeting! I can do large scale sketchnotes as well, and look forward to an opportunity to work with you.

Stir Symposium 2011

I was brought to the Stir Symposium as an official visualizer for the event, along with other visualizers from around the country. Each visualizer was assigned to a particular team of participants to document their process, and submit a final 11" x 17" summary for the symposium's published proceedings.

As found on the Stir Symposium website, "The Stir Symposium is about collaborating and thinking in new ways, no matter the discipline: business, architecture, engineering, design, agriculture, geography, and more."

Midwest UX 2011

I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural MidwestUX conference here in my hometown of Columbus, OH. This conference was a big deal for me, as my friends were running the conference, and coming from out of town to attend and run a workshop. I'm really proud of everyone's work and how they represented the Midwest to the greater UX community. These are my sketchnotes from the talks I attended.

TEDxBloomington 2011

My sketchnotes and set-up from the inaugural local TEDx event in Bloomington, Indiana. Was awesome to see old friends from my graduate program and to make new ones. MJ Broadbent, one of the forerunners of the sketchnoting/visual thinking movement in the UX world, invited me to write about my process at VizThink.com, which was very flattering.

TEDxColumbus 2010

My first experience in a TEDx crowd. It was amazing. So many great thinkers and conversations.

Nigeria Family Trip 2010

I bought a cheap, unlined notebook from Half Price Books for my trip to my father's homeland, Nigeria. The country was so humid, the paper became as soft as cotton after two days. See the photos of my trip at 2010 Nigeria Trip.
